Tanner, an artist in Atlanta, is adrift after the loss of her grandmother. Living in a motel and working on the street, she meets Iris, a compassionate store owner. After being caught stealing chalk in Iris' store, Iris decides to help her by paying Tanner's bail and letting her work in the store. Their bond deepens, and Tanner grows in self-confidence.
