She wants to make a good impression and goes out to buy George's niece a present. But she is too late and the specific present she needed to buy is now sold out. So she lies to still get the last one. Then she bumps into Santa Claus and he sees what is happening so he puts a curse on Jillian so that she can never lie again. Now Jillian is only able to speak the truth about everything and everyone and now she is going to meet her family in law this certainly isn't a good time.
