A Royal in Paradise

New York writer Olivia Perkins is having tough luck: she books a surprise vacation for her boyfriend Kyle to celebrate their anniversary, but he thinks it's a better idea to break up instead. Olivia is having a hard time and also struggles with writer's block. And this while the deadline for her new novel is getting closer and she hasn't written a single word on paper yet. Hoping to find inspiration and leave Kyle and her old life behind, she decides to go on the vacation to the tropical Haven Isles with her best friend Katie. Meanwhile, Prince Alexander has his own problems. The queen insists that he must get married soon to fulfill his duty to the people of Torovia. She even tries to pair him off, though there is no spark of romance between Alexander and the woman she has in mind. Alexander isn't ready at all and doesn't want to think about marriage yet. He decides to take a break and also heads to Haven Isles. Once on the island, Olivia tries to start her book, but without much success. And then, to her great shock, she also runs into her recent ex Kyle! He is not alone, he has brought his new girlfriend Tiffany. Olivia doesn't know how to act, but luckily there's the handsome Alexander to rescue her from this awkward situation. They barely know each other, but there's an immediate connection. Alexander takes an instant liking to Olivia, but she is very cautious. After all, she is still trying to forget her ex. Still, they embark on an adventure to discover the island and each other. They go canoeing, play beach volleyball, dive, and take long walks on the beach. Even though friend Katie has been doing her utmost to help Olivia and support the relationship, Alexander is more successful in helping Olivia step out of her comfort zone. After a beautiful walk on the beach together, they not only have a good feeling and fond memories, Olivia even got inspiration from it: she has finally started her new book! As Olivia and Alexander grow closer, his mother gets wind of it. She tries to put a stop to the relationship because, according to her, Olivia is certainly not the right candidate for marriage. And then Olivia discovers that Alexander has been hiding his true identity. She did not know that Alexander is a real prince! What is she going to do now that she knows he has lied to her? Can she forgive him? Can she live with the fact that Alexander is a prince and what the future will look like?
